Shabui, The Landscape of my Mind

Born in the urban wilds of Newton at a time when one was free to roam, to explore and to satisfy an insatiable curiousity, my training as a landscape designer at the Radcliffe Seminars Graduate Program in Landscape and Enviromental Design gave structure to my imagination. What's underneath it all interests me and I use it.

Who are you? Where have you been? Where are you going?

My work is all about these questions John Lennon use to ask of his friends and fellow travelors. I find the responses change as circumstances rearrange my priorities and yet what isn't impacted in my work is the lingering lure of the sea and the landscape as thematic sources. Fragments scratched away to reveal effects that vary considerably - a contemplative and sensuous balance between the richly colored layers and the textured surface.
