Studio #225

2005 was the first time I ever painted. My son was taking painting classes, and after he stopped, I took over, and I never wanted to stop. It wasn't until I visited a friend in the Berkshires who had started her own Photography studio, that I realized a studio is what I needed to get serious. So here I am at 450 Harrison Avenue doing what I love to do.

Growing up I always enjoyed art classes and often drew in my spare time, but my sister was the artist in the family, and I never thought I had any talent for it. I became a film producer instead. It suited me. I was in a career where every day was challenging and energizing. I was very lucky to have worked with some of the best. It was always my dream to make documentaries on subjects of my choosing. It still is. I will never get the film business out of my blood.

But the film business is a hard road these days and the hours are grueling, so painting came at the right time for me. I have only had a few years of art classes, as far as training goes, but I keep at it. I'm in my studio most days, painting what grabs me at the moment or what I have come across in my travels.

My experience at Harrison Avenue has been a very positive one. I find myself surrounded by talent, energy and inspiration every time I am there.
