Michele Boshar is most recently recognized for her mixed media collages which incorporate acrylic paint with photographs, torn paper and vintage magazine images. She has been exploring the expression of women over time, oftentimes finding inspiration in a simple word or a phrase from one of her magazines.

I love exploring the female face and figure and the energy and emotion they transmit. I see my reflection in these figures and faces. I find strength in the community of women which surrounds me. I hope that others can look at my work and perhaps see a glimpseof themselves.

The SOWA Artists Guild at 450 Harrison Avenue is a non-profit association of professional studio artists. The Guild’s purpose is to promote the diversity and individuality of the artists working in this flagship space, 450 Harrison Ave, the center of the SOWA Art & Design District.

The SOWA Art & Design District of Boston has developed into a major artist community with hundreds of artists’ studios and dozens of galleries.
