Colorful Contemporary Landscapes
My landscapes have always been celebrations of color, and my recent focus on encaustic painting has enabled me to incorporate more depth and texture into my work. I love the meditative processes of waiting for the beeswax to melt, slowly building up layer upon layer of paint, fusing the layers with a blowtorch, and then carving into the wax with pottery tools to create texture and patterns. My art has been written about in The Boston Globe, Art New England, Cultural Adventures 2021, and Maine Home + Design.
